Fourth for Sam Bennett in the last stage of the Belgium Tour

The last stage at the Belgium Tour was also the last chance for the sprinters. Even several riders tried to break away, the race finished with a bunch sprint in the end. BORA – hansgrohe got their timing right today and hit the front with 1.5 km to go. The lead-out for Sam Bennett worked very well and delivered him with 200 m at the front. Unfortunately, Sam was overtaken to the line and finished the race in fourth place.

04       S. Bennett                          + 0:00

From the finish line

“The team did a great final today and I want to congratulate them for that. The lead-out for Sam had been almost perfect, but unfortunately we didn’t get the reward. There is not a lot more to say, it was a fair sprint, a very good lead-out from us and in the end the fastest guy won.” – Torsten Schmidt, sports director
