BORA – hansgrohe defeated in Belgium Tour heat battle

Unusual hot temperatures made the fourth stage at the Belgium Tour today even harder than already the profile was promising. BORA – hansgrohe unfortunately couldn’t cope with the circumstances and missed already the first important move of the day when the peloton broke up with around 80 kilometers remaining. In the end Q. Hermans took the win from a break while all BORA – hansgrohe riders finished in the third group.

01       Q. Hermans                       4:19:40

02       M. Schmid                          + 0:00

03       T. Wellens                           + 0:04

From the finish line

“We knew already before the start that this would be a tough day for us and the race confirmed that. Unfortunately, Jonas crashed when he was next to the race doctor because of a bleeding nose. He is in a hospital now, but he seems to be quite ok. Mainly hit the ground with his face and we need to see after further examinations if all bone are ok there.” – Torsten Schmidt, sports director
